Tex Mex Poutine

Ingredients:

2 lb bag crinkle cut frozen french fries

2 tbsp olive oil

1 lb lean ground beef

1/2 yellow onion sliced

2 tbsp taco seasoning

1/4 cup water

2 cups Tex Mex grated cheese blend (or more depending on preference)

Gravy:

2 cups water

2 packets (25 grams each) brown gravy mix

Instructions:

Cook french fries according to package directions. Add the olive oil to a large frying pan and turn to medium heat.

Add the ground beef and begin breaking it up. Add the sliced onion to the pan and continue breaking up the meat.

Dump the two packets of brown gravy mix into a small sauce pan and add the two cups of water. Turn to medium heat. Stir occasionally until it boils and starts to thicken. Reduce heat to simmer.

Once beef is browned add the taco seasoning and water. Stir to combine to combine and reduce heat to simmer.

Allow both the gravy and the beef mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes.

Assemble poutine by starting with a layer of crinkle cut fries, then 1/4 of the beef mixture followed by some of the grated cheese and topped with gravy. Serve immediately and enjoy!
